Asia's biggest electronic dance music festival, Ultra Korea, launched Underground Stage in 2014 and started a new project Itaewon Warehouse Project (IWP) in order to introduce underground artists on a regular basis.
With its first event on Friday, January 16, 2015, IWP aims to bring the underground electronic dance music scene and culture closer to the public.
In 2018, with its 5th event, it changed its name to Itaewon Sound Project (ISP) to diversify the genres and formats of the show. By creating video contents and showcasing them on a major media platform, ISP tries to promote underground clubs and artists and ultimately expand the underground music scene.
Ultra Korea is also hoping to discover new talented local artists through ISP, and build a more concrete relationship with them to sign under its Artist Management Division, in order to help local artists branch out to the worldwide electronic dance music scene.
